Nu-Con Powder Handling, Packing & Pneumatic Conveying Specialists.

Nu-Con specialises in rotary valve supply and bulk solids material handling systems, and offers a full design, manufacturing, installation and start-up service in any part of the world.

Dense Phase Pressure Conveying Systems generally use compressed air at above 1 Bar g to push materials from a Pressure Vessel (also known as a sender unit or pressure pot) through a pipeline to the destination where the air and product are separated by a filter or other system. The product extrudes through the pipeline, initially at low velocity, and gradually accelerating towards the destination.

Systems generally operate on a batch basis as follows: (simplified)

1.Fill the sender unit with product to be conveyed.

2.Pressurise with compressed air.

3.Open discharge valve until the product has been conveyed out.

4.Close discharge valve and refill vessel.

A panel of valves and sensors are used to control the air pressures and velocities at all parts of the system to ensure smooth reliable conveying of the product.

Continuous Pressure Dense Phase Conveying Systems using High Pressure Rotary Valves are a recent innovation to the field of pneumatic convey systems.

These systems are similar to conventional lean phase pressure convey systems but use high pressure compressed air to move the powder, and material velocities are much lower.

Control systems frequently use variable airflow and pressure regulators to optimise the system parameters.

As these systems operate on a continuous basis - product is constantly supplied at the starting point, and arriving at the destination without interruption - this makes them suitable for dosing and continuous weighing applications.
